My most cherished possession is a music box, which is a special gift from my father. My father bought this souvenir for me when he traveled in Japan ten years ago. This music box resembles a Faberge egg. It has a dark red color. The main body is inlaid with gold and complicated patterns. There is a big shiny gemstone in the middle. These decorative characters make it more beautiful and elegant. It is so heavy that when you put it down on a table, you can hear a thud. Even though it is as small as my hand, it has a large space for storage inside. You can put some tiny accessories in it such as rings, earrings, and necklaces. The first time I opened it, I heard a classical song. The comfortable rhythm relieved my pressure. Now it has been so old that it does not play a tune anymore, but I can still remember its euphonious melody. I have been keeping it in my bookcase as my important possession since my father passed away this year. Everytime I look at it, it can really bring back those memories of the time my father and I spent together. Because of this meaningful music box, I can feel that my father’s spirit is still here with me.
